Karaikudi Restaurant by Shen Fong

The place is quite comfortable, the table and the surrounding setting can be considered quite luxurious if compared to the normal nasi kandar or some banana leaf shop, its kind of clean. They have three waiters in the shop and one supervisor (i think). Wonder why they do not have lady server.

The first image is the statute that you will see when you first step into the shop !!

The second image is their mutton briyani rice. Briyani rice is quite oily compared to other briyani stalls that i have tried, however the herbs(rempah) that they used to cook the rice is not bad as the taste and the aroma is thick and good. As for the mutton ,its kind of juicy and it is not overcooked (there is a lot of places where people tend to overcook mutton) it's good for people who like the mutton taste. They do give you a reasonable portion of mutton as it does not come with a cheap price tag. (i personally prefer the briyani in Tarbush, Batu Ferringhi)

The third one is the chicken tikkai masala. The taste is pretty common as in any Indian restaurants. It tastes like smoked chicken with some charcoal aroma.

The forth image is the chicken lunch set (which is supposed to be free, hahaha) it come in a variety of rice, Nan, Dahl , curry chicken, dry curry chicken, vege, yogurt, etc (which i don't know how to name them).  It's kind of a complete set for you to try out Indian food. The curry chicken is pretty normal, the dry curry is good though, their dahl is kind of thick and usually dahl which is thick is a good one. The nan is cooked perfectly as you don't see a lot of overcooked dark spot. Its kind of soft. (even though nan is a normal Indian food, but there are times where you have a nan which is too dry and thick and powder-ish)  its not in Karaikudi, worth a try !!!
